Another layout from BG June kit....

I really love the BG June kit, they are so colourful and vibrant. For this particular pattern paper from Tinkering Ink, its just too beautiful to be cut-out... So, I've decided to make a frame from it. What I have done is to poaint the edges with green paint then stamp around the inner sides to create the frame. Then I just scrap as usual.

This photo was taken at one of the session when we were feeding the ducks in Queens Park in East Perth. I've enlarge the photo to 5X7" because just love the smile on my DD. The journalling says "that is what your friends called U and U like to be called Jas!"

WooWeeee!!!!

I'm so happy that my layout - Cool CHIC has been selected by BadGirls site as Layout of the Week (LOTW) for this week. Didn't really expect this to happen at all... but I really must say that I do enjoy doing this layout... the idea just came onto me.... and I just had to finish it up.... I did it all in 1 night.

This is the thread in BG:

Cool CHIC!!!

I did this layout last nite using the BadGirls June kit.

I had lots of fun doing this layout. I am addicted to glitters, so sprayed GlimmerMist onto the felt embellies and used glitter markers to highlight the flower. Added some crystals as the birdie's eyes and on the little tulip-like flower centers. And I have used green arcylic paint to create a border for the spiral pattern paper.

As for the photo, I have heavily sand the edges, then stamp around the photo with the Frame stamp from Prima Marketing.

Simple JOY

BadGirls site has this challenge which is to edit a Black&White photo and add-on a highlight of color. And I have chosen this photo because the toy which Jasmine is holding is in bright yellow orangy color. She got this from Mc'D 's Kids Meal. Inside its a spinning top, yeah!!!! a toy which we seldom buy for our kids these days....

I remember those days when I played with lots of outdoor toys and especially boy's toys (mainly because I was the only girl around then).

Anyway, with this simple toy, Jasmine was so thrilled with it! .. when I showed her how to spin it, she was even more excited and wouldn't stop spinning and laughing at the same time.

This layout is done using the BadGirls June kit. I have sprayed some GlimmerMist on the cardstock before I add-on the pattern paper. I'm so into GlimmerMist for this layout, I even used it for the chipboard words. And instead of inking my pattern paper edges, I've used GlimmerMist!

Bliss : PencilLines #89

When we were at Melbourne during this Easter, Jasmine wanted to try taking photos using my digital camera. It was at the time when we were infront of the National Library, Joshua was showing us the place because it's one of his favourite place during his Uni days. Its quite a relaxing place and lots pf people just sit around and enjoy, either their lunches or the sun.... we decided to take a rest and enjoy the place too.... so, my dear Jasmine just started to snap & snap photos... initially, she was taking the tram and seagulls that were passing-by.

Then she said "Daddy, Mommy, SMILE!!!!!"... and without hesitating, we just did it!!! So, this is the photo that she took! I must say, its not bad for a 5 year old child!

With this photo, I decided to do a layout using the PencilLines sketch #89. The products I used are a mixture from Prima and American Crafts. I've titled this layout "Bliss" because both of us really smile like we are the most happy person on earth!!!.. and I want to remember these happy moments.

Thanks for looking.

Love begin....

Yesterday, I managed to finish one layout with a photo from the early stage of our courtship... at that time, I was still having my braces on. So, I always try to hide my braces when I smile, as seen in this photo. Back then both of us were still very slim and slender... haa!! haaa!!!... we really didn't have to watch what we eat or go on diet then... so we really had a great time.. especially the late nite's prata and teh tarik after the late night movie.

For this layout, I have used the Bad Girls May kit. I have painted the Prima pattern paper with arcylic paint in patches together with the music pages and some wordings pattern paper. This is to give a dreamy feel. Then add on photo with the rest of the embellishments.

Thanks for looking!

1st day at Primary School

Yes, my dear Jasmine is attending Primary school now. She's all excited about attending primary school, because it makes her feel that she's grown-up now... I am glad that she is attending this primary school because its a Christian based primary school. Last Friday when I fetched her, as usual I asked her what did she learn in school that day, and she answered that she has been learning/doing the same things everyday, BUT... she continued with great energy that.. "I have learned more about God."

To tell you the truth, I was suprised with this reaction because she has only attended this school for 4 days. Its such a blessing for us, as Jasmine didn't have to go through the waiting list in order to get a place in this school. Some children had to wait for 6months to a year before they can get a place in the school.

Over here in Australia, its compulsory for children to attend PrePrimary, its before Year1, and my dear daughter has started her PrePrimary on 3rd June. I have taken some pictures of her with her new uniform.

satisfied?.... oh! yes!!!

Yes, I'm very satisfied with the final look of these 2 layouts.

I found a photo of DD when she was 3 years old, and she was so cute.. because she has double-chin... a sight that I have not seen for the last 2 years... She was quite chubby at that time. So, I just have to scrap it.
For this layout, I have tried one new technique, which is sewing. I did some along the borders of the yellow pattern paper, then go through it with glitter pen.....

Second layout, is based on a challenge in BG that pattern papers are not allowed. This photo was taken when we were at Melbourne this Easter. Specifically, we were at SouthBank enjoying our stroll... when we saw a man selling balloons... Jasmine wanted to have one, and I knew that she would ask for a flower, which she did.

The journalling here says "We were at SouthBank in Melbourne and you wanted a balloon. And I knew that you would ask for a flower. The whole afternoon, you were so happy and behaved like an ANGEL. Glad that we took a photo of you with your flower because it burst that very nite at the hotel. "

Thanks for Looking!!!

Altered Box - My very first attempt..

Did this with a gift box. Painted with vintage white acrylic paint on the sides, for the top cover, I adhered a felt which I have cut a frame and stamp the side with a swirl design. Then glued on wooden swirl, the Melissa Frances frame with a red bloom attached with some pearls and a ribbon flower. On the sides, I surrounded it with a green mesh and white ribbon over it.

Jasmine's growing...

I have decided to do a album to keep a memory of my dear daughter's growing in the past 5 years. I have used the a project kit from Bad Girls ... and I enjoyed the whole time doing it. And I have chosen a few of the photos that we have taken all these years.

Main page: JAS a shortname which my daughter is often being called.

Page-2: Embellished the word GROWTH to indicate that this album is to show the progess of her growing up.

Page-3: This is photo of Jasmine when she was only about 2 months old.

Page-4: She has put on more weight, and specifically chosen this photo, because she really looked like a boy here. She was about 5 months old.
Page-5: This photo was taken when we were at Batam for holiday. She was about 1 year old here, and she looked more like a girl now...
Page-6 & 7: When she was 2 and a half years old, she is such a cute gal!!! Nothing like the "terrible two's " that I heard about so much.
Page-8-9: Starting from 3 years old, she has grown to be more like a lady.. little lady :-) . Love these 2 photos of her that she smiles so naturally.
Page-10 & 11: And at age 3 to 4, she has some silly moments that I loved these are a few of them.

Page 10 has a hidden picture behind the piece of cloth. And I have used buttons and ribbon to hold the cloth together. Look... how silly she is ....lol !!!!Page-12 & 13: These are some of the happy moments that she have expressed. She is 5 years old in these 2 photos.
Page-14 & 15: Finally, she has really grown to be very girly... love to be called Princess, love to keep long hair, making up her hair, let her hair down...

Mini album...

Just over the weekend, I had some interesting classes at the BG site. The first class is called Reclaim, Reuse and Recycle... and guess what we're recycling... ... its toilet rolls!!!! Never thought of re-using that such a great idea!!!!

We were taught to flatten it then Wah-Lah!!!!.. it's a mini album... isn't it a fantastic idea!!!... now, I dont have to get any mini albums, this will be a great gift too!!!!
Ok, Ok, Ok,.... this is what I've done, a mini album for my birthday last year!!!

And inside the flatten TP, an embellished tags like this could be kept in it!!!! Brilliant isn't it!!!!

This is the simple embellishment behind the 1st TP:

And this my the 2nd TP :

The tag inside my 2nd TP (apology for the vague photo.. not to sure what happenned here!! )

You can use as many TP as you desire... but for me here, I have only these few photos, so 2 TP is just nice!
